Hi!

Thank you for being a part of Zamir & Waleed's magical wedding on November 12, 2022.

Not only was it the start of a new chapter for us, it was also a celebration of our first 10 years together.

Not only was it the start of a new chapter for us, but a celebration of our first 10 years together.

It's an honour to have gotten to share that milestone with loved ones like you 🤍

Before we jump in further...

We'd like to introduce the exceptional team who gave us the wedding of our dreams and whose work we are proud to feature here.
Thank you all so much!!!!!

Not only was it the start of a new chapter for us, it was also a celebration of our first 10 years together.

Most of all, we have to thank our incredible parents & siblings.

Not only was it the start of a new chapter for us, it was also a celebration of our first 10 years together.

It is their love & blessings that made our wedding everything we had ever dreamed of.

Without further ado, we're thrilled to show you the beautiful digital memories that were captured on our big day, and the joyful days leading up to it.

Pre-Wedding

It began with family.

In the days leading up to our wedding, we welcomed family members who had journeyed to join us for our big day. In true South Asian style, no wedding is complete without a little song and dance, some henna, and the coming together of two ecstatic families.

The Big Day

We spent the morning together.

We helped each other get dressed & done up, feeling like the best versions of ourselves for the monumental day ahead. We found exactly what we wanted to wear for our events on Shreeman.in — romantic peach and cream sherwanis for the ceremony, vibrant black and gold kurtas for the reception — and had them made for us.

Now it was time to put them on for real!

We took time for a stroll together in our princely finest...

And met our beloveds for a breather before the nuptials.

Ceremony

For better or for worse, in sickness and in health.

Together with our officiant, Charity Adams, and with our mothers as our witnesses, we committed our lives to each other. Even though we've looked at each other a million times, this time it was different; it felt bigger. There wasn't a dry eye in the house 😭

Reception

That just happened!

After some tears and many hugs, we returned to our suite to catch our breaths & switched into our second, more dance floor appropriate outfits for the night. Of course, we took the opportunity for a little cuddle & some photos while we were at it.

Returning as husbands

With the official business behind us & our dancing shoes on, we made our triumphant re-entry as married men, alongside our parents and siblings, flanked by drumbeats by Amit & Harish from Kashmiri Dholi & Sons.

Per the Ismaili Muslim tradition, we then received our families' blessings, through five lively ceremonies:

1 / The Ponkhwa Ceremony

The grooms’ mothers rid the newlyweds of any evil spirits that may oppose their happiness by making seven circular motions around them with beetle nuts.

This ritual summons the spirits of goodness to protect the couple from misfortune and to preserve the bonds of amity between them.

And popped into the
photo booth with our fabulous guests...

...before joyfully dancing the night away together!
